Sarah Boone and Jorge Torres were known to local law enforcement in Winter Park, Florida as they had both previously been arrested for domestic violence against one another. The couple lived together and in February 2020, an incident lead to Jorge’s death - but the question about whether it was an accident or murder lead to a heated 10 day trial in October 2024. While a conviction was reached, the case remains controversial to this day.
